Mercy...Our Pilgrimage of Hope

Engagement and experience (October)

Since June, we have been travelling on this pilgrimage journey together. Did we think it would be easy? This month, we continue to engage and experience the unknown. At times the journey brings dislocation or alienation; we may not be sure of the way forward or how to make sense of what’s going on inside. How will we keep going? How can we trust the journey that takes us to new places and discoveries of self, others, creation and God?

We invite you to enter the adventure, with all its surprises, fatigue, obstacles, relationships and insights. Let us hold onto hope to keep us going towards our destination. As we being this Step, we acknowledge the First Peoples of these lands of Australia and Papua New Guinea: they carry their wisdom along the long and ongoing journey.

This month you are invited to:

  • Step 5 Proceed along the path which is attached (or click here). As you do you are invited to engage with and experience the various resources that have been placed on the way. One of those resources is a presentation on the Good Samaritan and if you would prefer to read rather than watch this, click here. You may like to engage with all of the resources or with those that spark your attention. You can engage with them either in order as you find them (starting at the bottom) or in whatever order works for your journey.
  • Sing the Pilgrims’ Song
  • Record your thoughts in your Journal
  • Nourish your soul through the items in your backpack and bilum
  • Share Your Reflections in the Pilgrims’ Place.
  • Mark in your diaries the end of Pilgrimage Zoom on Friday 12 December at 12noon AEDT
