About FLAME

Formation is something we do to enhance our capacity for involvement in mission and ministry at the Institute of Sisters of Mercy of Australia and Papua New Guinea (ISMAPNG). It is much more than training and education because it is about the internalisation of values, attitudes and ways of seeing. (Faith, Life and Ministry Education Framework)

 

The ISMAPNG Governance Formation Schema sits within the fifth element of the FLAME Framework ‘Sustaining integrity in Mercy Mission’, expanding on the area of ‘understanding the requirements of good governance.’ The Schema explores four Dimensions of Ministry Governance:

• One Mercy Mission
• Canonical governance
• Civil governance
• Ministry-specific culture and context.

It is designed to assist Ministry Boards and Executive Leaders in planning and implementing their governance formation program over a suggested three year cycle.
