A Feast for Freedom

Young Mercy Links Members and friends joined with Sister Maureen Sexton (red jacket standing at the back) and Sister Margaret Moore (blue jacket, standing far right) to Feast for Freedom.

On October 25, Young Mercy Links Victoria hosted their second Feast for Freedom Fundraiser at the Mercy Hub. They gathered to raise much needed funds for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, in support of their incredible work providing aids and critical services to people seeking asylum.

YML member Eve said “The feast was great again this year, coming together to share foods we love is always a special experience and to use that to support the ASRC shows us there are many different ways to engage in Mercy and make a difference.”

Newest member, Madi, said “Attending the YML Feast for Freedom this year was a reminder that when we gather in service and solidarity, we nourish not just ourselves, but our collective spirit for justice.”

It was another wonderful night; sharing food, stories and each other’s company. Together they raised $950 for the ASRC. Thank you to all who attended and donated.
