The Archives of the Institute provide a wealth of stories and objects which tell of the presence of Sisters of Mercy in Australia since 1846. The Archives are located in centres around Australia and in the collection is a statue of St. Peter linked to an early arrival story.

All around Australia there are groups who meet regularly under the banner of ‘Mercy Associates’. One such group is the Circle of Mercy in Caringbah, Sydney.

Marg Hayes shares with us her reflection on being a ‘Mercy girl’. Marg is the coordinator of Catholic HIV/AIDS in Melbourne as well as being a Prison Chaplain.

Sacred Heart College in Geelong honoured the Mercy tradition of hospitality on Monday 3 March with the official opening and blessing of its new trade training centre and dining room.

On Sunday February 23rd, 33 young adults gathered at Treacy Centre in Melbourne, for their orientation to Young Mercy Links 2014.

In May 2013 the Institute Leadership Team set up the Institute Mission Team (IMT) who are now planning 'Mission Days' later in the year for all involved in Mercy mission and ministry.

Santa Maria College in Perth recently celebrated the 75th Anniversay of the founding of the College. A special symbol was commissioned to mark this event.

Sr Helen Monkivitch rsm has been recognized for a lifetime of leadership, generosity and innovation by being named on the 2014 Victorian Honour Roll of Women, part of the International Women’s Day celebrations in Victoria.

The Institute Communications Planning Group met recently in Ballarat to continue working on the development of communication strategies for ISMAPNG.

Sr Duyen Thi My Nguyen rsm shares some of the journey which led her to become a Sister of Mercy.

On 24-25 March, the Australian Response to Climate Change (ARRCC) organised visits by 25 of its members to Senators and members of the House of Representatives. Included in the group were four Sisters of Mercy.

Remember the invitation to join EARTH HOUR in the February 'just Mercy'? Millions of people will turn off their lights between 8.30pm and 9.30pm this Saturday night, March 29 .

Sr. Assumpta Kent rsm who died recently, was a tireless worker for Sacred Heart Mission in St. Kilda, Melbourne. Maria George, Parish Pastoral Associate shares memories of Assumpta with us.
