Wilcannia-Forbes sisters celebrate diamond jubilees

Wilcannia-Forbes Sisters of Mercy gathered on Saturday October 28 for the Diamond Jubilee of Sister Hazel Baker and Sister Rita Crowley. They were joined by the Sisters of St Joseph of California from the Sans Souci Parish. A Mass of thanksgiving was celebrated by Father John Sturgeon at the Redemptorist Monastery, Kogarah, during which the jubilarians renewed their vows.

Following the Mass, a celebratory lunch was held at Tuffy Avenue Sans Souci, where the sisters came together to tell stories and share memories.

Both Sisters Hazel and Rita have ministered for many years in the Sydney and Wilcannia-Forbes Dioceses, and they have been blessed with a variety of experiences as they devoted their lives to the Mercy ministry.

This day of thanksgiving was a wonderful opportunity for all the Sisters to reflect on the great blessings that come to us all through our Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy.
