The call of Pope Francis to ‘Care for Our Common Home and to incorporate into our lives the eighth Work of Mercy which is ‘Care of Creation’ is a call which resonates across all Christian traditions and speaks to all who work together on this intersection between faith and the environment.

One example of a church community working in this area is the community of the Grosse Pointe Memorial Church in Michigan, USA. This community has a Caring for Creation Taskforce. Its focus is on identifying areas of improvement in our environmental stewardship and raising awareness of this issue to the attention of the community. One of the ways they do this is through designing and/or distributing season-specific resources. As we approach Christmas, their resource ‘The Low Carbon 12 Days of Christmas’ provides a wonderful way to participate in a Twelve days of Caring for Creation Christmas. READ/DOWNLOAD HERE.
