Sisters Gather to Celebrate Jubilees
In late October sisters gathered in Belmont on beautiful Lake Macquarie in one of the many Jubilee celebrations across the Institute this year.
Jubilarians from across the Central B Community were honoured, especially those who were able to attend the special occasion.
Jubilarians contributed to the Opening Ritual, with the theme, ‘With our hearts centred in God….’ and each one responded to the Reading from Ephesians by proclaiming her motto.
Anne McGuire RSM gave a moving reflection, in which she honoured each Jubilarian with a snippet about her life and commitment.
Ailsa Mackinnon RSM led the Ritual, and was a splendid MC for the day. Everyone in attendance enjoyed sharing a meal together, and the ritual cutting of the cake by Mary O’Connor RSM (60 years) and Kay Sheridan RSM (50 years).
Tricia McDermott RSM made the vote of thanks on behalf of the Jubilarians, with special acknowledgement of the organising committee.
It was a very happy occasion, giving everyone the opportunity to mingle and have many conversations with one another. Sisters came from the Northern Rivers, from New England, the Hunter, Sydney and Melbourne.
