Mercy Services provides community and in-home support across various parts of Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Lower Hunter region of NSW. These services reach out to older people, people with disabilities, people affected by drug and alcohol abuse, the socially disadvantaged and families.

The Mercy Services Community Housing Committee has approved the use of one of our community houses to provide support for three women post-rehabilitation who need further support to remain drug-free as they reintegrate into the community.  The house, to be known as Bronte House, in the Newcastle (NSW) suburb of Maryland, will be run in a similar way to our very successful Brighton House for men.
We are very grateful for the generous donations that we have received for Bronte House to date.

In particular we would like to mention the substantial generosity of one of our Community Care Assistants, whose family donated contents from the home of a deceased family member who had previously been supported in her home by Mercy Services.  The wonderful items donated will certainly contribute towards making a lovely home for the new residents.
