October 22-28: Refugee Week in NSW and VIC

Refugee Week has been celebrated in Australia since the 1980s by various organisations. The timing of the week varies from State to State. Amnesty International and the Refugee Council of Australia are celebrating it this week, October 22-28.

This year’s theme is ‘Journeys’ which provides great opportunities to explore, discuss and increase our understanding of what it means to be a refugee.

Responding to the needs of refugees has always been part of the Institute’s mission through Mercy Works Incorporated. To find out more, visit the Mercy Works Inc. website or download the Refugee Council of Australia’s Refugee Week 2006 Resource Kit.
