New executive officer appointed to Mercy Works

Sister Rosemary Carroll’s most recent position has been with Mercy Works Inc. in the role of Office Administrator. Prior to that appointment, she served for four years as Director of Mercy International Centre in
Rosie brings to this new role in Mercy Works considerable experience in organisational development and management, as well as experience of grassroots work with Indigenous people and her recent work in the management of Mercy Works’ volunteer project for refugee assistance in
Rosie, who is from Grafton Congregation, will take up her appointment from August 16, 2006. We look forward to working with her.
Acknowledging Sister Maryanne Loughry’s work as Mercy Works Executive Officer
Sister Maryanne Loughry’s appointment as Executive Officer of Mercy Works Inc., which commenced in August 2004, has just concluded. Maryanne, who is from the Adelaide Congregation, put considerable energy into developing projects for Mercy Works.
In this last financial year Mercy Works has disbursed nearly $300,000. Maryanne established a sound and clear articulation of our program policy and developed the capacity of our partners in project application and reporting.
She visited and worked with the Mercy Sisters overseas and helped them to put their work into a development framework.
