Melbourne celebrates 150 years with lecture and Eucharist

This year marks 150 years since the arrival in Melbourne of the first Sister of Mercy, Ursula Frayne. As part of the celebrations Dr Deidre Mullan RSM, Director of Mercy Global Concern, the body representing Mercy International Association at the United Nations, will deliver a public lecture on March 6 at the Australian Catholic University‘s Knox Theatre.


 


The lecture, entitled Journey of the Heart will commence at 7:00 pm. All are asked to be seated by 6:45 pm. Bookings are essential by phone to Sophie at Melbourne Congregation Centre on (03) 9499 1577 or by email to publiclecture@mercy.org.au


 


Celebration of Eucharist


Eucharist will also be celebrated at St Patrick’s Cathedral, East Melbourne on March 11 at 2:30 pm. Those attending are asked to be seated by 2:15 pm. An afternoon tea will follow in the gardens at Parliament House.
