Mercy Health continues to excite and support the dreams of the resident of Mercy Place Montrose, offering  them the opportunity to tick amazing experiences off their bucket lists.

Ninety-one year-old resident, and self professed dare devil, Eileen Lee had been thinking about what experience she wanted to tick off her bucket list and after watching her grandson and great-grandson race V8 super cars for many years she felt inspired to strap in and feel the G-force.

Mercy Place Montrose has been running the bucket list program thanks to an innovation project fund from the Mercy Health Foundation. This program provided Eileen and other thrill seeking residents with the opportunity to tick off these adrenaline adventures from their own bucket lists. Along with four other residents from the home, Eileen fearlessly headed down to Sandown Racecourse, suited up and raced around the track at a staggering 250km per hour.

The initiative within the home has been hailed as an enormous success, with residents putting their hands up for sky-diving, Tigermoth flights and V8 super car hot laps and more.

The initiative by Mercy Place Montrose was recently features on Channel 10’s The Project. Click the play button below to watch the segment.
