Federal election 2010 resources

In the lead-up to the Federal election, Institute Justice Co-ordinator, Carmel Heagetry RSM, alerts us to some resources from the Australian Catholic Social Justice Council, NetAct and the Conference of Leaders of Religious Institutes (NSW) and Social Policy Connections.

The Australian Catholic Social Justice Council has produced a leaflet, A Vote for Social Justice, which aims to help you think about some issues that will be decided in this election and offers some questions that could be raised with all candidates in your electorate. Issues are discussed under the headings ‘Fostering true partnership’, ‘Making ends meet’, ‘A place to call home’, ‘Welcoming the stranger’ and ‘Care for the environment’.

NetAct and the Conference of Leaders of Religious Institutes (NSW) material can be downloaded here.

Commentary is available from Social Policy Connections. You can also download the August Newsletter: Elections – Is this the best we can do?
