Damascus College celebrates 50 years of Mercy On Its Site
Damascus College is celebrating 50 years of Mercy Education on its beautiful campus with a celebration on Saturday, October 28.
All current and past students, families and staff of Damascus College, and its foundation Colleges – Sacred Heart, St Paul’s and St Martin’s in the Pines, are invited to attend a celebration to mark this important occasion.
Sacred Heart College was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1881 in Ballarat East. In 1967, the foundation stone was laid in Mt Clear to mark the opening of Sacred Heart Senior College. In 1995, this beautiful location became home to Damascus College through the joining together of its three foundation Colleges.
As part of the celebrations, the College will open a Commemorative Walk – a 240 metre bush walking track commemorating sponsors, past and current students and staff of Damascus College and the three founding colleges.
